Terms of Service

Welcome to StudyBucky. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the StudyBucky website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Study Bucky LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. The Service is intended for users in the United States.

1. Not affiliated with ARRT

StudyBucky is an independent study resource. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or any other certifying body. ARRT® and The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists® are registered trademarks of The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, used here only nominatively to describe the exam our materials help you prepare for. All practice questions are original content authored to align with ARRT’s published content specifications; we do not use, reproduce, or distribute actual exam items.

2. Not affiliated with textbook publishers

StudyBucky cites reference textbooks (including Bushong, Bontrager & Lampignano, Ehrlich, Fauber, and McQuillen Martensen) as sources for the facts our questions and lessons cover. These citations are for attribution only — StudyBucky is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these authors or their publishers. All practice questions, rationales, and lesson content are original work; we do not reproduce or distribute the textbooks’ own text.

3. Educational use only — not medical advice

The Service is provided for educational and test-preparation purposes only. It is not a substitute for an accredited radiography program, clinical training, or professional medical judgment, and nothing on the Service is medical advice or should be used in the care of an actual patient. We do not guarantee that using the Service will result in a passing score or certification, and any outcome figures describe typical or past results, not a promise of your results.

4. Ask Bucky and AI features

Parts of the Service (including the “Ask Bucky” study coach) use third-party artificial-intelligence providers to generate explanations and answers. To provide these features, the content you submit and limited context about your session are sent to and processed by our AI provider (Anthropic). AI output may be incomplete or incorrect—verify anything important against authoritative sources. AI responses are not medical advice and are not a substitute for professional judgment. Do not submit sensitive personal or patient information to AI features.

Ask Bucky’s answers are not unique to you—another user asking a similar question may receive a similar answer—and may not reflect the latest edition of a reference textbook. Do not use Ask Bucky’s output as the basis for any decision affecting a real patient, or any legal, employment, financial, or other decision with real-world consequences for a person. Ask Bucky is a study aid only.

You agree not to use Ask Bucky or any AI feature to: seek actual clinical, diagnostic, or treatment guidance for a real patient; submit real patient information or other sensitive personal data; or request illegal, harassing, or offensive content. This is in addition to, not instead of, the acceptable-use rules in Section 6.

5. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old and located in the United States to use the Service.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute our question bank or content;
  • Use the Service’s content—including questions, rationales, or Ask Bucky’s output—to train, develop, or improve any artificial intelligence model or system;
  • Share your account or login with others;
  • Reverse engineer, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service;
  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent usage limits on AI or other features;
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically at the then-current price each billing period until you cancel. Plans that begin with a free trial convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends; the trial length and renewal date are disclosed at checkout and in your dashboard. By subscribing you authorize us to charge your payment method for the applicable fees.

You can cancel at any time from the “Manage subscription” billing portal in your dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

8. Intellectual property

All content on the Service—including questions, rationales, software, and design—is owned by StudyBucky and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal exam preparation.

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you agree that we may use them freely, for any purpose, without any obligation or compensation to you.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or to comply with law. On termination your license to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Study Bucky LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyBucky will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, Tennessee, and you consent to their jurisdiction—except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service must be filed within one year after the claim arose, or it will be permanently barred, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Miscellaneous

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them freely, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. The Service may link to or reference third-party websites or content (including the reference textbooks we cite); we don’t control and aren’t responsible for third-party sites or content, and a link doesn’t imply our endorsement.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date; continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
